Brennan, a director and writer, is co-founder with Ryan Kelly of Moving Theater. Born in Piqua, Ohio, and raised in South Carolina, Brennan began his theatrical studies as an actor at the Workshop Theatre School in Columbia, SC, under the direction of David Avin. He later became a member the Trustus Theatre Apprentice Company, studied at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts, and trained with the SITI Company. Brennan graduated in 2001 from Yale University. Brennan met Ryan Kelly in 2002 and together they founded Moving Theater; their collaborative work has been performed in theaters, festivals, museums, a factory and a squat in New York, Paris, Chicago, Hudson, East Hampton, Boston, and Greenwich. Brennan has worked at the Alliance for the Arts (New York), as an apprentice director at the Paris National Opera, and as an assistant director in theater and opera. Awards: Fulbright, James S. Metcalfe Prize in Theater Studies (Yale), GALA Prize. He currently lives in Brooklyn.
