Moving Theater helps inaugurate the Park Avenue Armory’s burgeoning cultural program by becoming the first company-in-residence on site. Lodged in the former Mess Hall on the Armory’s 4th Floor, the group begins an extended period of research and development toward new performance-based projects for 2009-10. At times throughout the company’s residency, they will open the doors on their process, inviting the public to attend open studios, readings, discussions, and small-scale performances.

We've packed up our Brooklyn artists crew, coffee machine, yoga mats, and some powerful missives on contemporary performance and relocated to what is fast becoming a hotbed for artistic production--the Park Avenue Armory. We're thrilled to be the first company-in-residence at the Armory, and as such we've planned a vigorous working period. We thank Rebecca Robertson, Lissa Frenkel, James Bewley and the Armory team for this opportunity to work, and we look forward to sharing soon what we're discovering at the Armory.
